Diraskeep

Long the capital city of Silverhaven, and seat of the throne of its kings, Diraskeep is a large city, built around the impressive Minx River. It is known for its Grand Markets, and the many annual celebrations which take place, such as the king’s birthday, the harvest festival, and the festivals of Ioun, whose temple takes pride of place in the city’s temple district.

Silverhaven is a trading country, and its capital is no different. There are large portions of the city given over to the markets, as well as a sizeable merchants district, and areas set apart for the trade of wood, metal, ceramics and glass, and alchemical necessities.

Apart from the city’s fortifications, it is defended by an entire troop of Silverhaven knights, not to mention the orders of paladins from the temples of Pelor. Most of the knights are either landed gentry who have been rewarded with rank because of their service to the king, or knights errant seeking title through service. Most of these knights have charge of a company of full-time soldiers, training them for battle – although the city has not been attacked for over 200 years now. The veiled tower has also pledged a squad of battlemages to the city’s defense, if it is ever required.
